BSA, La La La: Project Reality Check Comment Scrubbed From Facebook.

After the BSA Facebook post of Nov. 27 2018 about the project planning being ‘out of the way’, a concerned local resident felt the need to comment.

Apparently BSA thinks its Facebook followers must be kept in the dark about the important stuff that is not at all ‘out of the way’, because the comment disappeared from the page within a few hours.

The entire comment section for this item has now been deactivated. It looks as if the comment touched a nerve.

The comment:
“Excuse me, but not so fast; this messageing is premature & too rosy. === Environmental Permission ("Omgevingsvergunning") still undecided & borough increasingly alarmed. === The British School of Amsterdam behemoth would be encircled by 3 busy & toxic stop-and-go traffic zones. Is that wise? === BSA too large & too close to housing. Noise pollution levels would be unacceptable: research should be redone: measured, not just -flatteringly- calculated. (Similar: shoddy Schiphol research in dustbin. Source: Volkskrant, 29nov2018, p. 1) === Appeals & court case a real possibility. === BSA painted itself into a corner; without any idea of a plan B is compelled to bluff and steamroll (with well-heeled expat clout) in all-or-nothing gamble, risking a fiasco. (somehow reminds one of Brexiters' fibs) === Link to weblog item, (city council appeal -'2e Raadsadres'- currently under consideration): http://buurtcomitehavenstraat.blogspot.com

The original BSA Facebook post of 27 nov 2018:

"We have now reached our next important milestone with the new school building. The building contractors, are well underway with the demolition work. The exterior buildings dating back to the 1980’s will all be demolished by early next year. Now that the planning is out of the way the focus is now on the construction and renovation of our new school. #havenstraat We are still very much on track for being open to the pupils in September 2020. BSA, La La La: British School Verwijdert Informatie Over Nieuwbouw Van Facebook.

“… Excuseer, wacht even.
